So for about a year me and Leland have been talking about going live and its always been a big question about how we would aproach it, should we get a live drummer and try to make it sound more like a band? or should we just go straight techno and just keep it as me and the computer with effects. well in the past month or so after talking about it for so long we finally got things on the road, with Andrew on bass, Chris on guitar,Lee in programming, and myself on vox. I have to say this has been the most interesting project i have ever done and in my opinion very origional.
so as of now there are no official dates as to when you will actually see us on stage but it should be within the comming month so keep a look out for that.

in my opinion this is probably the best work i have ever done as of yet i dont plan on plateauing
anytime soon. just finished a couple of songs in the past few days one of which is on our myspace
(www.myspace.com/dhubshatt) "the Red Dragon" and the other will be up soon and that one is called "The Tribe" its definatly heavy with industrial and screaming vocals its got a phat beat which is what im all about and its got a very needed crunch when it hits the chorus with the screams so you should definately keep a look out for that on our myspace page

Update
So, we are still alive. We have officially finished our first album. It will be on CDBaby within the next two to three weeks, after the mastering and final song order is complete. We are still working on live shows, we have found a bass player and guitar player, Phoenix and I will be on vocals and keyboards. We hope to be playing shows as soon as we find a drummer. We have already started the song writing process for the new album if you check out our myspace, we are posting some of the new material for the new album. It will probably be moving toward more of a modern rock edge. But in the mean time, look forward to some great new things.

Album Update
Just to keep everybody updated, I would say we are about half way done with composing the album as of today. Most of the tracks you hear will not be on the album. When it comes to live shows we will probably have Phoenix playing guitar and singing, me on the laptop and possibly some live drums as well. So just keep an eye out for Dhub Shatt Live posters on a streetlight near you.

Uncontrolled
Whats up? This is Phoenix, co-writer and vocalist for Dhub Shatt.
This new song(much like alot of the other songs) has lyrics that hit pretty
close to home for me. To start off, I guess I would say this song, which like any song worth listening to, is about a girl, about the trials and tribulations that come before the event of something on the horizon...
This song in particular is about how it wasn't working out and i didn't really feel i knew where she was coming from i felt like she was too here and there,
as i got into writing these lyrics i felt it had a pretty universal message...
"Mean what you say and say what you mean." its never good to be in the middle, thats where frustration is born... along with these lyrics.
I had a good concept of how I wanted to portray this song, my lyrics can be pretty harsh sometimes and these lyrics definitely show traits of cold-heartedness however
I wanted to put it under a better light ... sometimes its nice to say "fuck you" in a subtle tone and i believe this song says that in many ways. I had been listening to pounds of music with layered synths in them, one of which i had undeniably been able to pass up was the vocoder, which was gently placed in the back of my vocals.
That in essence was the driving force for how I had wanted the song done; however, like most of the songs we do in the studio, it felt like the song wrote itself (in a matter of five hours but who's counting). Check out the song, it's very soft spoken so to speak but if you listen closely you might catch a couple of cuss words in there, don't tell your parents. ha ha, let me know what you think i would love to hear it.

Shotgun
Today we worked on a new electronic song, Shotgun. Experimenting with new time signatures, we came up with a few beats in 7/8 time. Its interesting experiment with new time signatures in the sequencer, even though many of our old beats that were programmed in 4/4 are actually in many other time signatures. Using a new time signature forces a change in the thought process of the song, which can lead to some really interesting ideas.
After we decided on a beat we miked up the beater bass guitar on the practice amp with a little bit of saturation and recorded a few bass lines. Vocals will be recorded next time.

Digital Sun 2.0
New song! We started working on a new beat knowing that we wanted to do something with vocoders. After finishing the beat we decided that the sound would go well with some older lyrics from digital sun, thus digital sun 2.0 was created. Right when we started to record lyrics, someone started to mow their lawn, thats where the idea for the white noise in the background came from. Their is still some work to be done on this track, but overall it is a minimalist sound reminiscent to breathe.
